Never Compare Your Pip or Dollar Result with Anybody Else

by Vahid | Forex Market Analysis and Signals | Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

Hello :)

After about one and half month that I restarted posting the signals on this website I still think that if it was a good idea to post buy/sell signals like this or not. Experienced and professional traders never rely on others signals and ideas. They believe in their own system and take their positions based on the signals they find using their own system rules. So the signals I publish here doesn’t work for any professional trader because they don’t even bother to look for such signals. There are two other groups of people who may use my signals. The first group includes those people who know what forex is and also know that  it can make money but they really don’t know how to trade. They like to trade and make money but they don’t know how. They also don’t know how and where they can learn forex trading. But if someone tells them when to buy and sell they can do that. The second group includes those traders who have learned or are learning to trade but they are not as professional and experienced as the traders who are confident enough to trade on their own. They like to consult the other traders.

I personally believe we should learn how to trade and become experienced and expert enough with our own system. Whenever I followed someone else advice in buying or selling a currency pair I got burned. Whenever I became biased by the others systems and ideas and I ignored my own rules and signals I got burned. Whenever I made my mind free of any other ideas and suggestions and then looked for my own signals and trade setups I won. There are a lot of good traders around me. When we talk to each other we share our ideas, systems and predictions but when I want to trade I DO NOT consider anything that I hear from them. I really have to do that otherwise I will be in trouble.

Anyway! I am coming to this conclusion that maybe publishing buy/sell signals in the way that I am doing right now is not a good idea and it can make problems for some people. I need to know about your idea. Please let me know if I am doing a good job here or you expect something else. What do you like me to do? What should I do to be more helpful for everybody?

Tip of the day:

Never Compare Your Pip or Dollar Result with Anybody Else

Forex trading is different from any other kind of businesses that you ever know. Maybe this is the tenth time that you hear this sentence from me. Competition makes more movement and improvement in other businesses but it is a disaster when you want to compete with the other traders in forex trading. When you hear that a trader makes 1000 pips every week and you try to be like him/her while you know nothing about the system that he/she uses and also you are not as experienced and knowledgeable as him/her, you will do nothing but losing your money because you push yourself to get the positions even when there is no signal. Professional and experienced traders never care about the pip or dollar result of the other traders. There are good and professional traders who are happy with 100-200 pips per week. They don’t try to make more because they know that whenever they have tried to do that they lost. Again, I have to emphasize that forex trading is really different.

Today signals will be posted in the below table at 17:00 EST which is 22:00 GMT. Be on time!

Announcement (11:40 GMT, 24 Feb): We will not have any signal for tonight.

Note:
1. Read the disclaimer before you use the below buy/sell signals.
2. If you have not received the below signals on time, just compare the current price with the entry price and do not take any position if the target is already triggered or the price is close to it.
3. Please note that some of the below signals can be pending orders. So read all the explanations carefully before you take any position.
4. Cancel all the pending orders that are not triggered from the previous day.

Some of you in this forum are simply small minded with strong wishful minds. This man who advertises him self as a humble down to earth helper of the under priveleged is in reality a con artist and a fraud. Can you not read between the lines. He got you all subscribers hook, line and sinker wondering about other websites advertising the fact that he is making a couple hundred pips a week. You then joined his website creating traffic which is one of his ultimate priorities, traffic = advertising revenue from vendors. But then he had to keep you interested and have you return so he throws in a few signals (where he gets them is beside the point, lets say he is a genious experienced forex trader and he predicts them from his technicals as he states - that’s fine). He gets you into the trades trusting him but he does to yo what is prevalent ever where, in all trading companies, commodities, exchanges. He gets you to trade in one direction and he trade’s the opposite, makes mone and moves on to next target scenario. He has done this “my site has been hacked several times”, grow up and smell the coffee. He creates dummy users in his own site and then has them make comments and remarks just to authenticate and make the positions seem genuine by implying that a member made the comment and then he goes even further and makes a reply to his on commnt - he a truly a piee of work and a fraudster. Read comments made by the only person that seems to be on to him and goes as far as reporting the last incident to the commodities and future commission. Have you not wondered why this individual named Vahid didnt take any steps and didnt say anyhing. Would you if you owned this site and if you were him. Just read his own comments, his statements are conflicting in diffeent directions depending on what he is trying to achieve. This same guy who seems to be on to him who calls him self Robert made a statement that if something is too good to be true it probably is. Have you ever faced a situation in your lives that this simple rule didnt apply. Not sure how long he will allow this message to be readable to others but please wake up. Now he has noticed providing signals leaves too much trace and in case of a legal back lash he wants to cover him self so he intends to indirectly push you into certain trades and again trade him slef in the opposite direction. He con’ed you to ge you into his home, he defrauded you time and time again depending on how long you have been in his site to keep you here and make mone off your trades and now wants to cover his tracks. He is what is imply consider a charlatan. I doubt seriously he will keep this site and i assure you he and his site will dissapear soon and reppear again under a different name and person. Did you think he was performing a reformandum requesting your ideas and opinions. No my dear friends he just wanted to see what sort of following he has and also determine the level of stupidty and intelect of the majority of members which obviously we see is terribly low. For those of you who wish to make a formal complaint of him, you may simply perform a whois of weboma.com and you will be provided with this guy’s address and phone number which i’m sure he will delete and purge in no time and you may go to your police or local law enforcement and make a complaint. If my conclusions are wrong then you will see him staying here in face of my accusations, perform as he promised when he dragged each and everyone of you to his site and simply ignore my comments and in case this is the case which i am assure you it’s not, I shall appologise to each and everyone of you inlcuding Professor Vahid but simply watch he will now show his true self.

John

I’ve taken time to read, learn and be motivated from Vahid’s site. The only benefit he receives from his effort is the hope that a one will learn about trading Forex and contribute to others in return. His kindness and thoughtfulness, his eagerness to share his insights, are unique to my experience and I am grateful. Your vehement is unfortunate — and the depth of your anger speaks to your limited capacity to believe in others. Everyone needs to be cautious when they go out into the world — this I would agree with you. But, it is also critical to be thorough in your assessment of another’s motives before you condemn. I do not believe you have taken the time to appreciate Vahid’s gift.

Hi Vahid, thanks for you daily post. I have only found your site two weeks ago.
It is interesting what you say about following some ones else’s signals, and how when you followed some one else you got burned. I can understand you when say you are not sure if you are doing is a good idea.

I fall into category two, I am new to this and looking to learn, and it is not easy to find a teacher, as I think we need to learn many things ourselves. Like you mentioned the other day, the example you have many hours experience looking at the one minute charts, I have a long way to go.
However the way I am learning from your signals is to try and see if I would have taken a similar trade. If I have I completely different ideas on the same pairs, I take them in demo. So far I am doing badly (still learning).
I then look at your trades and I try and take 15% of the pips you are “offering”.
By this I mean, I set the limit/stop orders based on your signal to take around 15 -25 pips most of the time. Some trades are activated, some are not, usually the ones (I have just a few days experience doing this now) that are activated are then successful. So I have just started to build up a small account. Each little bit helps each day. Soon I will be joining Kiva - because of your 15%s, so I am not sure you need to doubt whether you have a good idea or not.

People will always be happy with + pips and unhappy with - pips. Us humans are built like this. Humans are also greedy, I think when you “offer” 200 pips people want 200 pips, they spend/donate the 200 pips in their mind before it is earn’t - again a fault of us human. We as humans need to learn to be happy with less ! And Forex is different as you say, and actually I got 30 pips off your GBP/JPY signal from last night, yes I could got 200 but I did not, I did not earn them, but the I got 30 was great, 30 is +, and it is helping me grow my account, and I am learning discipline, Forex and being happy with less!

I do not know enough about Forex but what I am trying to say is two things:
1) One I am learning and earning from your signals, I would say keep going - if someone is unhappy or been burnt, they need to learn the same way you did, but there will always be some people learning and earning.
2) Maybe refer the people, by way of a link at the top of the Signal table to your disclaimer page, because lets face it everybody who come to this site knows the risk of Forex and they cannot be unhappy with you.

Kind and sincere regards to you and your family,
Kevin from Germany

Vahid, I think you are doing a great job. Your tips are priceless and I have become a better trader because of it.

While I enjoy that you spoon feed great signals, I no longer just blindly trade the signals, but try to reverse engineer them to see how you arrived at the signals. I am looking forward to the day that I can ‘see’ the signals before you post them.

If you are dedicated to posting your signals, I am a proponent of having the signals available as a pay service. By using a pay service, your terms of service are well defined and people joining it will have to agree to your method of delivering signals. It does not have to cost much and you can use the profits for charity if you wish.

Just like your signals, you can use my comments to influence your decision, but it is your decision and only your decision of what you would like to do :)

You are a very interesting person JimS, from what you state it seems it is your decision too, as said before you and Vahid have a lot in common. My feeling all long has been the same, as the “old saying” goes, if something’s too good to be true it probably is. TO the users: if you wish to purchase signals you may do so at one of the following sites: http://www.forexpeacearmy.com/public/forex_signals_reviews, there are also many free sites, here’s another: http://www.mataf.net/en/forex/analysis. The signals are actually quite reliable and for those requiring explanatios and analysis you may see them there as well. http://www.mataf.net/en/forex/analysis. I personally like Vahid and want to see where he goes with his site and his goals and want to be proven wrong with the “old saying” above.

Hi Vahid

I am on your site now for just over a month - I have made profit and I have made some losses - but the one thing that I cannot place a value on is the the fact that I can learn and earn at the same time. You have your disclaimer, people who have forex accounts have had to accept the risk disclaimer from their forex platform providers - there is risk involved - but you as the person must know where and how to limit your own risk.
You are a great mentor and friend - you are doing a superb job on this site. I am very greatfull for your efforts here.

Please , do continue.

Kind Regards

Vahid -

I found you a month or so ago and think you’re doing it right.

As I said the other day, I do my own chartology and if I don’t think a signal “looks” right on my end, I won’t take it. That doesn’t mean your signal or analysis was wrong (you’re usually right) it just means that for me and my analysis, I didn’t feel comfortable trading it. Do I feel bad? No — you have your analysis, I have mine. So be it. I’ve taken some trades here that were very good — and also sat some out that would have been great trades as well. Sure, I lost an opportunity — but guess what? There will be others.

I trade futures — EVERYONE is looking to see what works for someone else and wants to apply it to their own trading. There is no single solution to trading or learning to trade. What works for me may not work for you, Vahid….what works for you may not work for me or someone else. Trading strategies are as unique as we are, and we need to figure out what works for EACH OF US. We do a ton of reading and research and over time, find out a system/technique/method for trading that works for us. Trading styles/goals are as unique as our personalities.

But to just expect you to post signals and presto! profts appear, is not the way anyone can learn to become a better trader. Sure, you could publish your signals for a small fee each month, but I woudl think that defeats your stated purpose of being an educational resource (though I might contribute to your site if it did go private). I for one appreicate your efforts here and have expanded my insight into the fx world as the result of your site. and am happy to be one of the ‘regulars’ here that contribute to the discussion and help foster the community you’ve created here to help educate folks.

So in my view, you are doing things perfectly fine as they are. No change required!

Hi Vahid,

As others I read all of your material here, and learned a lot. It was not the first time I was reading about candlesticks, trend lines and so on, but first time that everything made sense to me.
My procedure every day is checking most of the pairs, setting my own trades, checking your signals and trying to understand why you decided every trade. If it is ok for me, I also enter the trade.
In my case you signals are the perfect complement to all your lessons, something like the practice.
If any day you decide to stop posting signals (I beg you not to do so) but go on with teaching, you can post them the day after, whit a short comment.
Thanks for your help!

Vahid,

I think that Kevin explains the position very well; I have learned a lot from your trades, I do not even take all of them, as I make my own decisions as well. Sometimes I am correct and sometimes I miss good trades, but every time I learn. I agree that a person should not just copy necessarily, but should try and apply what they discover. I have improved my trading a lot through looking at your trades and also through your “tip of the day”, in fact I have learned more from the tips in many ways. I have purchased some good books because your tips have led me to expand my knowledge and it has helped.

I feel that you should continue doing this, I have seen that you have a great deal of experience that makes some of your decisions on trades unclear to beginners like me, but as Eugene stated; we can “earn while we learn”.

Keep it up, I, for one do appreciate it.

I concur with all the comments here. Everyone should make their own decisions. Your signals are only a guide. If for some reason traders take your signals and don’t learn then they are only hurting themselves. Not often does someone give you guidelines and a chance to learn at the same time. I’m sure that you know what you give you will receive ten fold. I have done alot of things for people in the past and have been rewarded both emotionally to see how my help has provided for them and financially. May your God bless you beyond all your wildest dreams for your endeavors.

Vahid,

So far I have had nothing but praises about the projects of yours. I am relatively new to forex and it is of my opinion that, for me to learn, I need some guidance in both short and long term. Just like other things, learning takes time and often involves falls; giving up earlier achieves little from my point of view.

Personally I don’t think one could learn forex in 6 weeks. For that, I am prepared to learn for as long as I can and your help is available. And that is for both mine as well as the charities that I support’s sakes.

Vahid - Thank you for your honest enquiry into the reality of what you are doing, and your effort to ensure that it is in alignment with what you desire for your friends.

I have thought on this frequently. I can see that your signal service has potential to help and to hinder all who log on to your site to find them.
There may always be those who seek to simply accept the signals you offer on a silver plate, and then run off with each morsel, to devour it alone.
However, there are MORE people who see the morsels offered on the silver plate, and desire to find the loaf - the source of each morsel.
These are the community minded - those who seek knowledge, and in return, share it back into the community to the benefit of all.

One solution may be to reduce the number of signals you give every day, but to show the technical Analysis required to arrive at a potential trade.
Further, your comments section here is a great tool to allow members to post thier own thoughts on things like: 1) Direction 2) Trigger 3) Stop Loss 4) Take Profit levels.

Some days it may be more desirable to give no signal whatever, but to concentrate on a live trade from beginning (screening) to end ( the bend at the end of the trend).

I think the ultimate gift is education, so people may learn to look at a chart in maybe 4Hour time frame (or better still, the Daily time frame) and quickly realise whether a trade is there or not.
Then they may analyse the setup to establish solid buy/sell points and also be able to determine their own Stop Loss/Take Profit levels.

Further to this - it might be quite a lot of work for you, but perhaps you could invite someone to send you a chart of their analysis, and as a community, we could discuss what we are all seeing.
I am thinking here that you might choose someone’s chart to post on your site, in order to illustrate a point.
If everyone sent you a chart it would be too overwhelming to deal with.

I like your progressive thought here, and also the great attitude of the members who add their views to this Blog.

Thank you everyone for your participation in Vahid’s work. This is a very friendly and focused community.

May your work continue to prosper.

Kind regards

Ivan

Hi Ivan,

Thanks for your comment.

I love the way you recommended to have the signals and analysis. I have come to this conclusion that I should stop giving the signals in the way that I am doing it right now. It helps people but it doesn’t teach them anything. I will try to analyze some pairs during the weekends and teach them how to pick the signals.

Thanks again.

Hi Vahid,
My personal opinion of course I love to have ur signals whenever you publish it & frankly I’ve been waiting 4 your signals each day since you’ve started published it about 1 1/2 months ago but at the end i’t your decision which matters.. I’m still rookie in the forex trading & yes I have my own system/ theories to follow but your signals help me a lot but most of the time I have to adjust to my style, equity, time etc (meaning not follow 100% esp on S/L & LIMIT) but frankly I’d be disappointed when I couldn’t get your signals!

One more thing, great thing about this website is it’s complete with almost everthings- basics education on forex, analysis on current trading, signals for buy/sell (forecast) & motivational/reminder notes. The last two which I like most coz I couldn’t find in other websites. Again thanks for all the signals, and the analysis for those signals & hopefully you’ll ll just keep on doing that.
best regards,
azmi

Vahid,

I think it would be worthwhile for you to continue publishing your signals. I’ve been actively trading the forex market for a little over a year and I can honestly say I’ve only tried one of your recommendations. Still, I have learned from your methodology and am beginning to appreciate your short-term trading philosophy.

It seems to me that you are generally entering trades for less than 24-hours and are happy to take your profits in reasonable increments for that period of time. I believe the hardest thing about trading is closing your positions at the proper time and your method of setting reasonable profit targets with trailing stops makes a lot of sense. Your record speaks for itself and I think many more people can learn from you. What you offer on your site is unlike any other I’ve seen. Plus, you have introduced Kiva.org to many of us who have never heard of it.

Please keep up the great work.

Vahid.

I am a long time forex student but a newbie trader. There are many people like myself where life has out a few challenges in the way of our goal.

I will tell you what you are doing for me and my family.
You are educating me through both your signals and material, as I get to see how you are choosing your trades ( stop losses and Limits).
I am also getting confidence and am reading your educational material as well. Which really supports your trading style.

2 weeks ago I started to trade live using your signals but not just trading blindly more like a guide. I pull apart your signals to see if I would take them and I substitue my money management for yours.
Just the small trades I am doing has let me cut my hours back at work (down to 40) per week so I can study FX more indepth and spend more time with my family.

By you having this site, you are giving my family and many others the opportunity for a great future.

I am very gratefull to you and for your time.

Dave

Hi Vahid,

Am am not a experiance trader but as far I was going I manage to get some nice sistem, the owner of the sistem made money and my not, lose big time. I realy thing that is not the sistem but the mind set of a profesional trader…If you whant to share some thing to us don’t share you sistem because I think that it is a very personal thing to a profesional trader share whith us the mind set a o profesional trader :) share whith us the way you look at the markets, the fear the gread, the thing that you came acros in your evolution and way that you manage to move aver , how do you keep your focus?…how did you manage not having a hartattak, those thing. Specialy the things that made you stay in the market. :) I thing this is very valuebal to us all because the sistem we can find over the internet :) but mindset is gest in a profesional trader head :)

Sory for my spelling , englesh is not soo good for me.

Have a profitabil day :)

Hi Vahid,
I don’t think that you are doing a wonderful, I KNOW YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB. I think you should continue to post your signals because you give the traders like me who are not so confident to trade by themselves a fighting chance. By posting your signals one can go to the currency pair and consult their own system to see if it coincides with your signals and by that way we can learn what to look for with our own systems. I think it will help us to be self sufficient in the long run, keep on posting your signals..APPLAUSE FOR A JOB WELL DONE…….You inspire the masses and keep our confidence going..
GOD BLESS

Jeremy

Hi vahid,

Actually I did understand you intention You are trying to make everybody to independent to become pro-traders but to my feeling you are the best mentor I had and your intention is to make everybody learn their own. I hope u still can guide us, frankly speaking I trade only stock and I did not trade forex but I just monitor the signal u give.In this game U cannot make everybody happy It is up to individual people Sometime people tends to forget when most of time they win the game they think they smart and tend to greed and play more once they loose they thought your method doesn’t work but in fact it was their own mistake.I hope you stiil can guide us and you cannot made everyone please with your method Infact your education is free & everyone are happy with your method teaching from my survey and feedback. I hope you still can carried on your good work.Once again many thanks for kindness and god bless u.

Thanks, Sincerely

Mustaffa Kamal

Hi Oneman,

Thanks for your comment and sorry that I can not help any more. In fact I didn’t stop my signals because of the things that some people say. I just thought it is not a good way to help people. I wanted to educate them. I don’t like to make them dependent on myself. They have to learn to trade on their own.

Best regards,
Vahid

Vahid,

My thanks to you for your time, generosity, knowledge — openness and willingness to share your vocation — for being a mentor — a unique experience for me. Thank you for your kindness!

Your concern that sharing your signals will not lead to a successful educational experience is partially correct. It is easy to become reliant on your success and not develop one’s own individual strength and trading strategy. Your objective is not to create a trader audience dependent on you, but to create a strong, self-sufficient trader community. A community that shares its success both through relating its experience and financially through organizations like Kiva.org.

I am new to this discipline, have been motivated by your website and its content, have found the confirmation of your signals to be a confirmation of the potential of trading Forex — and I am fully committed to developing an individual trading strategy — because I’ve had the experience of entering your signals each trading day and seeing the overall success of your understanding. You are a role model for me of the possibility and opportunity of the Forex marketplace.

As you move forward with your website — whatever additional contributions you make will be appreciated by many.

So, thank you Vahid for your compassion!

Jamie
