It could have been; I am curious how the currency rate can change when the markets are closed on a weekend.

Hi Kim,

Forex trading market is closed for trading during the weekend and we can not trade, but it doesn't mean that there is no transaction in the world. Currency values changes because of the demand and supply and economical and political events and these events can happen even during the weekend. Currency market is not just limited to the money that traders buy and sell. In fact, private traders have a very low effect on the currencies values.

I suppose the currency movement over the weekend would be reflected in a gap when the market opens.
