Hi all,
How very interesting is the differences between the different platforms .
I use Go Trader and Vahid uses FX Pro which are both MT4 platforms but because of the 1 hr time difference you can get some candles that are completely different.
For instance-- The AUDCHF trade that vahid has analyzed in this mornings video which had the break-out candle as too large on the Fx Pro platform but on the Go Trader platform it was perfect because the smaller candle preceding the one that Vahid refers to was the b/o candle, and I was able to take the trade.
It can also work in reverse.

Cheers
Ian

Hi Ian,

It is related to the server time different among different brokers.

Hello Ian,

before I joined Forexoma, I was working with the Alpari platform and charts. I believe that Alpari uses the same time as your platform.
I downloaded FXPro as it was impossible to follow Vahid's analysis when using Alpari charts, so for a while, I was using both platforms.
In my limited experience, and this is only my opinion, but I found that FXPro time seems to work more accurately than Alpari. Nowadays, I no longer use Alpari.

Gday keith,
Thanks for the input mate, I too run both platforms. It,s an interesting thing, I often wonder what platform the big players use, (the players that actually move the market)
But it is certainly something that new traders need to be aware of.
Cheers
Ian

Hello Ian,

I do my actual trading with CMC.
FXPro starts trading 1 hour before Alpari, so you are more likely to catch early movements with FXPro when the week's trading starts.
CMC starts even earlier, but unfortunately their charts are pretty useless. They use UK time, so have 6 daily candles. The extra one is only a few hours long for the Sunday. This distorts all the indicators on all charts of more than H1.
Also, since using MT4, I find CMC charts user-unfriendly.
I imagine that the really big players use their own charting platforms that include ALL the trading hours, not just the hours that we minnows are allowed access to.
Does anyone actually know if trading ever stops at the weekend?

This was something that always puzzled me with the stockmarkets. You often heard the term "Out of hours/extended trading" Shares are bought and sold and the market makers adjust prices at times when we mere mortals are not allowed to participate, so we are stuck with the prices when the markets open officially.
